Recent trip to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) Mexico was beautiful.
The weather was pretty perfect except for a couple days of wind but the wind brought huge surf which was amazing to watch from the safety of the front patio.  This was followed by glassy calm waters for the rest of our stay, high 70's and perfect.
The full moon may have had something to do with the rise in water and surf.  The moon was a beautiful site.
My friend and I enjoyed having a Masseuse come to the condo.  For $40 each, an hour of one of the best massages ever was great...enjoying the ocean breeze and easy, no hassle set up and relaxing spa music was perfect.
I had my hair blow dried for $14 at a nice local salon, Gloria's twice while there. It was every bit as good as my local Dry Bar!
So, all the necessities, massages and hair care, and a good friend to enjoy the beach, fantastic local restaurants, sea food, and God's nature, I couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

Tybee Island Movie Night Starts June 20

FREE OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHTS ON TYBEE ISLAND

Movies are shown in Tybee’s Memorial Park, which features an enclosed playground, restrooms, and picnic pavilion.

There is ample parking on Butler and at the Jones Street entrance to the park, which is centrally-located enough that many families on the island, both residents and visitors alike, walked or rode bikes to join the festivities.  Movies are scheduled for the third Saturday in June, July, and August at dusk. June 20 selection is The Lego Movie; July 18 is Big Hero 6; and August 15 isEarth to Echo. All movies are rated PG. The city even takes the extra step of spraying the grounds for bugs prior to show dates.

Brentwood Farmer's Market

An incredible Farmer's Market is in Brentwood every Sunday.
This is a great experience and a taste of not only great produce but of the spirit of Southern California.  Just mingling with this health conscience, friendly, gathering of locals is a wonderful way to spend part of your vacation if you are staying in my Brentwood studio cottage or my 2 bedroom cottage, as well as my 14th St one bedroom cottages in Santa Monica.  Located on Gretna Green, about 3 blocks east on Montana Ave from my Brentwood cottages.

Napili Shores Farmer's Market

Located at 3636 L. Honoapiilani Hwy, near Bad Ass Coffee, just an 8 minute drive, is a great farmer's market every Wed.  Fruit is a bit less expensive and the locals can tell you what is the best for the season.

Farmers' Market

The Brentwood Farmers' Market offers top quality, seasonal fruits and vegetables on a stretch of Gretna Green Way closed off to vehicle traffic every Sunday morning. Stroll the length of the pedestrian-friendly market from San Vicente Boulevard to Montana Avenue and you'll find a wide variety of produce as well as baked goods, specialty gourmet prepared foods and handmade arts & crafts. All produce comes straight from California farms and has been certified by the Department of Agriculture of California. Open 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Sundays throughout the year.

St. Patrick's Day Firefighter's Ball

 It's that time of year again. Tickets to the HOTTEST party in Savannah are NOW on sale and you are officially invited to the St. Patrick's Day Firefighter's Ball sponsored by Spive Law Firm in the Beautiful, Historic, Savannah, Georgia! Come out and meet your Savannah Firefighters as well as many firefighters from all across the world including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Charleston, Atlanta, Boise, Orlando, and Ireland. The Savannah St. Patrick's Day Firefighter's Ball has everything you can imagine on St. Patrick's Day weekend. There will be an open bar, heavy hor d'ourves presented by local Savannah restaurants, LIVE music performed by Les Racquet, and a fantasic silent auction. Girl Scouts Week

Did you know Sunday starts Girl Scouts week? It's a week long celebration. And you are invited to visit the founder, Juliette Gordon Low's birthplace. This gorgeous home is located in Savannah. General admission is $10 for adults and $9 for registered girl scouts. Private tours are also available. Click here to be redirected to her website. 

This event is celebrated in March each year and starts with with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat on Saturday, and it always includes the Girl Scout Birthday, March 12. Romantic Weekend Getaway...

Tybee Critz & Lazaretto Boat Club Oyster Roast

It has certainly been chilly at Tybee Island. So why not warm up a bit, by joining in on the fun for the Tybee Critz this weekend. For more info click here. And look at those medals! They are gorgeous and made out of a solid metal.

Then on Sunday, Feb 8th head over to Lazaretto Boat Club for the Oyster Roast. Tickets are still available. This is a family event and tickets are $25 each. Children fourteen years old and younger, $10 each. 

Great Restaurant Week

Restaurant week ends tomorrow, Jan 25 so you still have time to try some fantastic food on Tybee.
My daughter and I ate at Social last Sat and it was excellent.  There was a lively crowd and live music around 8:00 pm.
North Beach Grill and Sundae Cafe's menus look excellent.

Tybee Restaurant Week

Tybee Restaurant Week begins January 16 and runs through the 25th. Each participating restaurant will offer a 3-course, prix fixe dinner menu for only $25 per person. (not including tax and gratuity). Tybee restaurants offer a diverse range of island fare, so be sure to eat well and eat often. You can also visit Tybee Restaurant Week for more info. 

Puerto Penasco Whale Watching

From the front patio of my condo in Puerto Penasco MX, watch whales now from Jan. through April.
Amazing sightings and, on top of this, you'll see amazing sunsets!  Warm temps for winter, around 70's!  Condo is booked up for this winter but check it out for the spring or next year!
